"You cannot put the same shoe on every foot." Publilius Syrus

  1. Tess, the placement of the shoes in your photographs has me wondering, what was the specific purpose of each type of shoe, in each climate that you placed them? What was the intention behind the first shoe being on a piano? Why are the last pair adorned with googles- have you taken them to the pool lately? I like your creative style, I wouldn't have thought to combine things I like in this manner. I do find that the photos, since they lack people, make it more challenging to understand exactly what you want the viewer to take away from it. I also found it intriguing in the first two images how you paired your converse with a piano, instead of the heels. Naturally, if we had been playing some sort of shoe-matching game, I would have categorized the heels with the piano instead of the reverse. This leads me to wonder why you chose to pair them the way you did?
